A 1992 graduate, Barbara earned 11 varsity letters
including four each in field hockey
and softball as well as three in basketball.
In field hockey, Barbi was a four-year starter
earning both All-County and All-State recognition. She was
named team captain and won the 'Most Valuable Player' Award
during her senior season. In basketball, she played three seasons,
serving as team captain and being named the team's 'Most Improved Player'
in her senior season.
However, Barbara's achievements in softball were even greater.
A four-year starter, she continues to hold NHS career records for hits,
runs scored, stolen bases, and batting average. In 1990, she was a key part
of the State Championship team and received All-County recognition several times.
A First Team All-State selection in 1992, she set single-season records for home runs,
runs scored, stolen bases, and hits.
Barbi went on to Trenton State College [now TCNJ] where she played softball
for three seasons and was chosen as a First Team All-American shortstop.
