A 1995 graduate, Michael earned six varsity letters in basketball and football.
Michael was a two-way starter in football, playing both quarterback and defensive back.
As a quarterback, Michael was instrumental in much of the team's success in the mid-1990s.
But it was his play as defensive back that earned him the highest honors. The 1993 season
saw Michael establish team records for interceptions in a game [4] and season [10]. As a result, he
was named the Northstar's 'Defensive Player of the Year'. In addition, he was a First Team All-CVC
and Second Team All-State selection.
In his senior season, Michael added to his records, finishing his career with 17 interceptions.
He again was named a First Team All-CVC [Colonial Valley Conference] player and was a Third Team All-State selection. Michael is the
only NHS player to receive state honors in two seasons.
